Services / Power transmission

High-voltage power transmission.

Engineering and supply for the backbone of national grids, from 33 kV distribution lines through 132, 220, and 400 kV transmission corridors. MCI delivers towers, conductors, hardware, and installation expertise across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Europe.

Overview

Power transmission is the long-haul carrier of electricity, moving generated power over hundreds of kilometres from generation sites to load centres. Reliability, mechanical resilience, and electrical performance at high voltages aren't optional; they're the engineering baseline.

MCI works across the full transmission build: lattice steel towers, ACSR and AAAC conductors, complete insulator strings, line fittings and hardware, and the installation crews and inspection consultancy that bring a line into service.

We supply on a project basis to utilities, EPC contractors, and grid operators, sourcing reliably at the volumes transmission work demands, and bringing technical advisory where the line specifications, route challenges, or commissioning sequence need a closer look.

Our scope in power transmission

  • Lattice steel transmission towers, design support, fabrication coordination, and delivery for 33 kV through 400 kV systems
  • ACSR, AAAC, and ACCC conductors with full accessory packages
  • Glass, porcelain, and composite insulator strings, suspension, tension, and post configurations
  • OHTL hardware, clamps, dampers, spacers, dead-end fittings, and corona rings
  • Earthing systems and OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) supply and integration
  • Erection, stringing, and commissioning services with experienced field crews
  • Inspection consultancy for in-service lines, condition assessment and remediation planning

Where this work fits

Across the MENA region, transmission build-out is accelerating to connect new generation, particularly solar and gas-fired capacity, into existing grids. In sub-Saharan Africa, transmission corridors are the prerequisite for cross-border power trade and rural electrification programmes. In parts of Europe, ageing networks are being reinforced and refurbished.

MCI's role is to be a reliable supply and installation partner across these markets, sourcing from established manufacturers, advising on specification trade-offs, and delivering to schedule.
